Dr. Estrella was appointed President & Medical Director in March 2002. In this role, he is responsible for evaluating new emerging Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Medical Device Company technologies and treatments, determining the company priorities and influencing the company's clinical strategy across all of its business units.

Dr. Estrella brings to ESTERN Medical extensive experience in the Cardiovascular, CNS, Infectious Diseases and MRI Diagnostic Imaging areas, as well as a unique combination of entrepreneurial, scientific and business expertise, encompassing both drug and medical device development.

During the previous years he did work in clinical development at EPIX Pharmaceuticals Inc., with its collaboration partners Schering AG and Berlex on two of the most important company agents Vasovist® approved in 30 countries & EP-2104R two new contrast agents for Magnetic Resonance in the cardiovascular and artery blood clot MRI imaging.

Dr. Estrella brings broad experience in the field of clinical development of cardiovascular and interventional medical devices, working previously as the Senior Physician Director-Clinical Trials Coordination at Guidant Corporation - (ACS) Advanced Cardiovascular Systems in Santa Clara California Peripheral and Stent Division, having culminating with Guidant corporation, with the HERCULINK® Stent platforms.

Dr. Estrella also acquired extensive knowledge working in the clinical development of the CNS with RISPERDAL® (Risperidone) for "Janssen Pharmaceuticals".

Dr. Estrella is internationally recognized for his broad expertise in clinical trials & research development in the pharmaceutical and medical device scientific community in some of the most prestigious medical institutions, pharmaceutical and medical device companies, with extensive expertise in the field of cardiovascular, peripheral vascular diseases, interventional cardiology, CNS, infectious diseases and Diagnostic Imaging, bringing those clinical development products to future global market approvals.

Dr. Estrella received his Medical Doctorate degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara (UAG), Mexico. He served as a medical intern physician at the National Institute of Nutrition in Mexico City, where he completed his clinical and research medical training.

Dr. Alva brings to ESTERN Medical extensive experience in the Neuropsychiatric clinical trials research area as well as a unique combination of scientific and business expertise, encompassing both clinical and research.

Dr. Alva has played a key role in the clinical development of ESTERN Medical bringing potential pharmaceutical and medical device companies to a clearer vision in their global research pipeline.

Dr. Alva has served as a principal investigator clinical trials and key opinion leader for the past 20 years conducting investigations under a myriad of neuropsychiatric conditions: Alzheimer's and other dementias, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder and psychotic conditions.

As a clinician and investigator, Dr. Alva's focus is on genetics, neuroimaging, and the latest treatments available for each of the aforementioned conditions, as well as on aspects of ethnicity and their correlation within clinical situations. He has published numerous clinical publications. He is a top key opinion leader at both national and international conferences for global pharmaceutical companies as senior medical advisor.

Dr. Alva is a forensic psychiatric consultant for the California Superior Court and has a diploma from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Alva received his medical degree from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara (UAG). His residency training was completed at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center (UCIMC) in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior. He presently is a board certified psychiatrist in both forensic medicine and psychopharmacology.

Dr. Felix Butter M.D. has served as our Director Clinical Cardiovascular Imaging since May 2005.

Dr. Butter has 10 years of experience in the clinical and research, academic and pharmaceutical healthcare industry including drug development work with molecular imaging with major pharmaceutical companies Schering AG and EPIX Pharmaceuticals Inc.

His background includes work in Europe and Latin America at some of the most prestigious clinical and academic institutions as a clinician and researcher.

Dr. Butter brings a full knowledge of cardiovascular expertise in the clinical, research and imaging field of CT, MRI, Angiography, Ultrasound, Pediatric Radiology and Mammography.

Dr. Butter is also the Associate Medical Radiologist at the Diagnostic Center Radiologie Wuerzburg in Germany.

Dr. Butter is responsible for early and late stage consulting development for international development projects in both MRI and nuclear medicine for ESTERN Medical.

Dr. Butter has published numerous clinical publications. His expertise has made him one of the top key opinion leaders at both national and international medical conferences for major pharmaceutical companies.

Dr. Butter received his medical degree from the University of Tuebingen in Germany. His residency training was completed at the University of Munich in the Department of Surgery with a subsequent residency in Diagnostic Radiology from the University Hospital of Wuerzburg.

Dr. Estrella joined ESTERN Medical in 2002 from S.M. of Mexico, a clinical gerontology and geriatric clinic focused on cellular enzymatic therapy antibodies and protein therapeutics.

Dr. Estrella has over 47 years of experience as a clinician, academic professor and researcher and is a key asset at ESTERN Medical in the knowledge of pharmaceutics and business development in the Latin America and European markets.

His previous track record was bringing the first wave of early geriatrics and gerontology treatments to Latin America from Europe and being previously part of a major distribution company in Mexico. Currently he still works with new emerging pharmaceutical companies as a key opinion leader.

Dr. Estrella obtained his Medical Degree from the Universidad Autónoma de México. He completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine –and Gerentologie Geriatrics at the Institutul National Gerentologie in Bucharest, Romania, with international renowned Professor, Dr. Ana Aslan M.D.

Dr. Hernandez joined ESTERN Medical in 2007 with extensive expertise in the clinical, academia and clinical trials research on Neuro-Surgery, Magnetic Imaging and Pain Management.

He is also currently a professor in the School of Medicine and the Director Medicine Pain Management and clinical research at the Universidad del Rosario in Bogota, Colombia, with more than 20 years of experience in this field.

Dr. Hernandez serves as senior clinical consultant and key opinion leader to Medtronic, Grünenthal AG Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, in the field of clinical pharmacology and medical device pain management and neurology.

Dr. Hernandez is involved in clinical and research as a key opinion leader and speaker in his field of expertise in academia and the pharmaceutical and medical device industry. He has published numerous clinical journal and medical book publications in CNS, on Pain Management.

Dr. Hernandez obtained his medical degree from the Universidad del Rosario in Bogota, Colombia. He completed his internship and residency training in Neurosurgery at the Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario, Bogota, Colombia, and continued his postgraduate studies in vertebral column and spinal medulla pain management in France at La Timone in Marseille. His third postgraduate training was done in Neuro-Imaging in MRI at the Instituto de Resonancia Magnética Biomagnética in Caracas, Venezuela.

Dr. Duran has fifteen years of experience in clinical and research development in the oncology and pain management field.

Prior to joining ESTERN Medical in 2006, Dr. Duran held several senior clinical positions as a Clinical Director for major medical institutions.

Dr. Duran serves as senior consultant and key opinion leader at Pfizer, Novartis and Grünenthal, in the field of clinical pharmacology for new oncology and pain management treatments.

Dr. Duran is involved in clinical and research as a key opinion leader in his field of expertise in academia and the pharmaceutical industry.

Dr. Duran is a graduate of the Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán in Mexico, and after completing his residency in anesthesiology at the ISSSTE –ALM in Mexico City, completed postgraduate and research studies in pain management at the Instituto Nacional de Cancerología in Mexico City.

Mrs. Hernandez joined ESTERN Medical in April 2008 with an extensive broad clinical and research technical support training in the field of cardiology-peripheral diagnostics area and brought a diverse combination of scientific and business expertise, encompassing both clinical and research training.

Mrs. Hernandez most recently was the senior manager of clinical, technical and education training support for Medrad Inc. a subsidiary of Bayer-Schering Ag Health Care, where she initiated a strategy that helped transform Medrad Inc. in Latin America from a distribution platform company to a fully independent clinical and training network structure in South America.

Ms. Hernandez spent 10 years with Medrad Inc. culminating in her role with two of the most important company platforms, the Avanta cardiovascular interventional injector and most important the Stellant Dual Multi-slice CT clinical support training for the Latin American region.

Prior to joining Medrad Inc., she was the senior manager of clinician MRI specialist for Siemens Medical Latin America with diverse responsibility from clinical training through commercialization. Previous to her experience in the pharmaceutical & medical device industry she endure her clinical experience as a chief of MRI technologist in South America and as clinical physical therapist where she did practice as clinician for more than 10 years.

Mrs. Hernandez is internationally well recognized for her broad expertise in clinical and diagnostic field, in some of the most prestigious medical institutions in the field of cardiovascular, peripheral vascular diseases, interventional cardiology and diagnostic CT, MRI imaging.

Mrs. Hernandez holds BS in Clinical & Physical Therapy from the University of the Rosario in Bogotá, Colombia and Masters in Technical Diagnostic Imaging from the University of Santander in Bogotá, Colombia.

Mr. Tienda joined ESTERN Medical in December 2003 as the Director of Business Development.

Prior to joining ESTERN Medical, Mr. Tienda acquired a broad background in diverse areas of the industry in pharmaceutical and health industry companies.

Mr. Tienda has extensive experience in the field of marketing and medical education with global corporate industrial companies such as Bayer -Schering Pharmaceuticals AG, Intendis AG, IMS-Health, Siemens Medical, GRÜNENTHAL Pharmaceuticals, working as a key pharmaceutical and medical devices expert, working closely with their development pipeline and global approved products.

Mr. Tienda has brought his knowledge to ESTERN Medical and to those companies working closely in the field of Marketing, Medical Education and Training in designing diverse communications strategies for those business units as a key consultant member for Latin America.

In addition to his role at ESTERN Medical, Mr. Tienda has been appointed the President of RADIUS Digital Communications in Mexico.

Mr. Tienda holds a degree in Communications from the Autonomous Metropolitan University of Mexico.

Mr. Palma joined ESTERN Medical as Director Business Development Science, in April 2007. He has more than 30 years of medical marketing and strategy experience, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices and in contrast media agents for MRI and MR Angio diagnostics.

His expertise includes commercial development assessment, strategic analysis, primary and secondary market research and pre-launch market planning. He joined the Company from Bayer Schering Pharmaceuticals AG of Mexico. which he has served as General Manager for Mexico SBU Diagnostic Commercial Division and Senior strategic advisor for Canada and Latin America.

He holds a Bachelors in Economics from the Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a Masters in Marketing from the (ITESM) Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico.

Mr. Ley-Estrella joined ESTERN Medical in 2002 bringing to the company more than 30 years of experience as an attorney in legal and finance business development, experience that he has acquired knowledge and provided expertise for major international and pharmaceutical companies in Latin America such as Coca Cola de Mexico, Upjohn Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, Aeroméxico.

Mr. Ley-Estrella leads the company´s legal business finance development and initiatives including oversight and establishment of strategic collaborations for ESTERN Medical programs and assets and strategic planning activities.

Mr. Ley –Estrella has led the formation and negotiations of ESTERN Medical collaborations in the U.S.A., the European Union and Latin America countries.

Mr. Ley-Estrella also works in the legal firm of L.E. and Associates, being the president of the firm in Mexico.

Mr. Ley-Estrella is a graduate of the Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM) School of Law, with a Masters degree in legal finance and law.

Dr. Hernandez joined ESTERN Medical in June 2006 and serves as our Associate Director South America.

Dr. Hernandez brings abroad experience of clinical operations in the pharmaceutical healthcare industry in South America including strategic operations planning.

Before joining ESTERN Medical he did work in top Government agencies for Colombia and France as clinician as well as working in Europe, where he acquired more clinical and operational expertise on a global basis for major pharmaceutical sponsors and Government agencies.

Dr. Hernandez received his Dentistry Degree from the Colegio Odontológico Colombiano de Bogotá.
